Why should I participate in a clinical trial?

Advances in medical therapy happen through clinical trials. This way new medications are developed to treat certain medical conditions. Your participation will help developing the new medication(s). You might also benefit from your participation through getting close follow up on your medical condition, free lab test, free electrocardiograms and you might get a new treatment for your medical condition. In addition, you get compensated for your time and travel.

How do I get enough information about the clinical study?

You will be given a document called the “Informed Consent”. This document will have detailed information about the study. You will be given ample time to review it before you sign accepting to participate. Also, if you have any questions, the study doctor or his designee will answer all your questions. After you sign the consent, you will be given a copy of what you signed.

What happens if I change my mind and I want to discontinue participation in a clinical study?

You can withdraw your consent and drop out of the study at any time. There is no long-term commitment.

How do I know if I qualify for a clinical study?

When you sign a consent to screen for a clinical study, initial protocol criteria will be checked, like doing laboratory tests among other parameters. If all criteria are met, then you qualify to continue in the study. If not, you will be informed why you did not qualify.

What is the next step after I sign up for a clinical trial?

You will recieve a call or text about an appointment witht the doctor.  Once you arrive to the office, the doctor or his delegate will explain the details of the  clinical study and will give you a consent form explaining the details of the study.  The doctor will answer any quesitons that you mihgt have.

Once you decide to participate, you will sign the consent form and you will get a copy for your records.

Is there any costs for participating in a clinical study?

Participation in clinical studies is FREE  Also, you will be compensated for your time and travel.
